Record Store Day is the one day of the year when over 260 independent record shops all across the UK come together to celebrate their unique culture. Special vinyl releases are made exclusively for the day and many shops and cities host artist performances and events to mark the occasion. Thousands more shops celebrate the day around the globe in what’s become one of the biggest annual events on the music calendar.
While there’s only one Record Store Day a year, the organisation works with both independent and major labels throughout the year to create contests, special releases and promotions in order to spotlight the benefits of supporting these independent, locally owned stores with music purchases throughout the year.
This year, we’re delighted to announce that ‘The One And Only (2022 Nik Kershaw Remix)’ is being added to the RSD catalogues for exclusive release on the 25th November 2022 in a stunning white vinyl limited edition (and it really is!). Stores are not allowed to reserve a product for customers so you will need to visit the store early on Record Store Day to purchase your product.
It’s hard to believe that its over 30 years since the then, 19-year-old Chesney Hawkes burst onto the UK pop scene in 1991 with the ionic ‘The One And Only’ written by Nik; it was the start of a beautiful friendship on, and off, the music scene. The track has remained a pop staple ever since for both artists.
The limited edition 12″, sees Nik give ‘The One And Only’ a fresh new twist; it also features 2 new mixes, a remaster of the original version AND two of Chesney’s other tracks that Nik has collaborated on.
